Trez Duo was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Trez grew up with a great love for music and when in elementary school, his mother decided to put him in the marching band, where he played the trumpet. This is where the journey began. Trez’s music teacher discovered his ability to sing, he quickly put him in the glee club.

Immediately after graduating elementary school, Trez started to slip in his musical abilities while excelling in sports and gaining popularity. It wouldn’t be until moving from the west side of Detroit to the east, when he found his true talent.

Trez’s mother moved him to East 7 Mile, where he would meet his cousin, good friend, and partner Infamous the Young God. This duo would sit around for countless hours rapping to every song on the radio. The two started making mixtapes at the early age of 11. The neighborhood took notice and even a local record label did to. The local label wanted to sign Trez and his friends, but unfortunately things did not work out.

After high school Trez decided it was time for a change and he joined the Army. He signed up to do 4 years of Active Duty. After a year of service, the tragedy of 9/11 occurred. Trez was later deployed to Iraq where he would truly learn what life was about. Once again he would have to put his love for music on hold. Trez served for a year in Iraq and then returned home to Detroit, September 4th, 2004.

When he returned it was time to put his heart and soul back into the love for his music. He hooked back up with his cousin Infamous the Young God. What came next was Seven Musiq Records. What came after is still being done.
